A delightful surprise on the weekend after the “Flight to the Light”.
I found that one of my photo received 1st place for the 2017 Otago Wildlife Photography Competition Night Sky Category.

The photo that received the honer was a star trail photo I took with a cabbage tree on a new moon before winter solstice. The enormous amount of stars was visible in the very dark location.
It was captured using a 6×9 midformat Fuji GSW690 camera and a Fuji Provia 100F film.
The2017 Otago Wildlife Photography Exhibition is currently displaying an enlarged print with other entries for this year. It is open for few months, until Sunday 23 July 2017 at the Otago Museum.
