There has been a decline in the appearance of auroras this year with the sun being quiet compared to the more active past few years.

But there had still been few good auroras. I went to one of my favourite location to see auroras back in April and early May before the temperature dropped and became winter.
I went with my son one night. He had childcare next day but since the evening had gotten darker we could see the aurora before his bedtime.

More photos of auroras were also taken at the same place couple of weeks before.
I went more closer to the ocean which I would hesitate to do with a child in the dark and salt water splashing towards the large rocks.
