There is a chance of geomagnetic storm predicted from the influence of the coronal hole and the co-rotating interaction region (CIR), which is a &#8220;transition zones between fast- and slow-moving solar wind streams. Solar wind plasma piles up in these regions, producing density gradients and shock waves that do a good job of sparking auroras&#8221; (Dr. Tony Phillips <a href=\"http:\/\/spaceweather.com\">spaceweather.com<\/a>).<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/traceoflight.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/coronalhole_SDO1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-406\" src=\"http:\/\/traceoflight.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/coronalhole_SDO1-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"coronalhole_SDO\" width=\"470\" height=\"470\" srcset=\"https:\/\/traceoflight.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/coronalhole_SDO1-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/traceoflight.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/coronalhole_SDO1-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/traceoflight.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/coronalhole_SDO1.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 470px) 100vw, 470px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>But unfortunately there is a lot of clouds tonight and the moon is bright with the waxing Blue moon (2nd full moon of the month), which makes seeing the aurora more challenging.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">So instead, here are some auroras to enjoy.
